The typical day starts around 7 am for ice fishing. Depending on the size of your group, you may be mixed with another group on the way out to the fishing spot. We do not mix groups in the ice shelters. Josh uses 2-man Clam ice shelters, so a party of 3 will be split between 2 shelters. Early and late ice travel may be on a snowmobile and/or four-wheeler. Heavy snow conditions may require travel in a track vehicle. The targeted species on the ice is perch, however, it is not uncommon to catch walleye and northern pike while fishing for perch. If you prefer to fish specifically for walleye or pike, please let us know in advance. This may not be an option in a mixed group. Your fishing guide will help explain what techniques, bait, and tackle have been working. Once your set up and fishing, Josh will continue to move around and fish, looking for the next bite to move you to.
